  1. Advance Knowledge: The journal seeks to expand knowledge in industrial engineering by integrating perspectives from various disciplines. These include, but are not limited to, operations research, production planning and control, project management, quality control and management, reliability and maintenance engineering, safety and security, risk management, service innovation and management, manufacturing systems, supply chain management, ergonomics, logistics, system modeling and simulation, and data-driven decision-making.
  2. Foster Collaboration: Jurnal Teknik Industri aims to promote collaboration and academic exchange among researchers, practitioners, and institutions worldwide.
  3. Encourage Contributions: The journal invites scholars, industry professionals, and policymakers to submit original research, case studies, and innovative solutions that address contemporary challenges in industrial engineering.

Jurnal Teknik Industri welcomes high-quality papers aligned with these objectives. All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process, during which authors receive constructive feedback from reviewers selected by the editorial board.

Papers previously presented in a conference not specifically associated with Petra Christian University Publication will be considered. In such cases, a copyright release may be necessary.

Open Access and Publication Charges
Jurnal Teknik Industri: Jurnal Keilmuan dan Aplikasi Teknik Industri (Journal of Industrial Engineering: Research and Application) (p-ISSN 1411-2485 and e-ISSN 2087-7439) is an Open Access journal, which is free to access and read on the Internet. This journal doesn't charge for article submission. However, an article publication fee applies for authors affiliated with Indonesian institutions, while international authors enjoy free publication. Additionally, for the accepted paper, the author(s) should proofread the English professionally and enclose the proofread certificate and the proofread paper with track changes in the final submission.

Language
The language of the journal is English.

Style
Manuscripts should be organized in the following order: Title; authors and affiliations; abstract and keywords; main body of paper; acknowledgment (where applicable); references; appendices (where applicable).

Abstract should not exceed 200 words. The abstract should indicate the subject and scope of the paper and summarize the author’s conclusion, so it may become a useful document in an information-retrieval system. Up to six key words should be included.

Units
SI units must be used throughout in the manuscript. If other units must be used, equivalent SI units shall follow in parentheses. No rigid rules concerning notation or abbreviation need to be observed, but each manuscript should be self-contained as to symbols and units, which should be properly defined.

Figures and Tables
Photographs, charts, illustrations and diagrams are to be referred to as “Figure(s)”. All figures and tables should be placed within the text and identified with consecutive Arabic (not Roman) number in the order they are referred (separate numbers for tables and figures). All lettering, lines and symbols must be of uniform size drawn in black-and-white prints, and cropped to remove irrelevant information. It is better to use several simple tables than one large, complex table. All figures should be clear and suitable for reduction (up to 50% original size). Lettering must be clear and must be large enough to be reduced by the same proportion. All tables and figures must be accompanied by a self-explanatory caption.

Mathematical expressions
Mathematical symbols and formulae should be typed. Particular care should be exercised in identifying all symbols and in avoiding ambiguities. Distinction should be made between the number one (1) and the letter l, or i and between the number zero (0) and the letter o. Equations must be numbered consecutively. Equation numbers should appear in parentheses. All equation number must appear on the right-hand side of the equation and should be referred to within the text. Use following sequence of parenthesis; )] }.

References

The references should follow the IEEE citation style. There should be at least 20 references within the manuscript, and please cites at least one paper from Jurnal Teknik Industri: Jurnal Keilmuan dan Terapan Teknik Industri, UK. Petra. Please use the Mendeley Feature in Microsoft Word for handling citations in Manuscripts. Each number represents only one reference. The styles of references are illustrated. The three or more authors of a reference should be written as the first author followed by 'et al.', for instance, Khalid et al. [1] developed the business intelligence dashboard in fleet management. The optimization approaches to solve the problems have been developed in the recent year [2], [3]. It is recommended to only refer to a Web source if the availability is secured. If there is an official document source, such as a journal paper, for the same document, please refer to the official document [4]. However, you may sparingly use Web sources. In this case, the title, author name, and year should be clarified in addition to the exact address when available. Please limit to use of books as references [5]. References list should include the doi of a publication or URL if the doi does not exist.

Journal reference should be in the style set out as follow:

Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing

Authors must disclose any use of generative AI in the writing process when submitting their manuscript. This guideline applies specifically to writing and does not cover the use of AI for data analysis or research insights.

  • Appropriate Use: Generative AI and AI-assisted tools may only be used to improve the readability and language quality of the manuscript.
  • Human Oversight: AI-generated content must be carefully reviewed and edited by the authors, as AI outputs may appear authoritative but can be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their work.
  • Authorship Integrity: AI and AI-assisted tools cannot be credited as authors or co-authors, as authorship entails responsibilities that only human contributors can fulfill.

Authors must include a disclosure statement in their manuscript upon initial submission. This statement will be published in a separate section before the references. Below is an example:

Section Title: Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process.

Statement: The author(s) used [TOOL/SERVICE NAME] for [SPECIFIC PURPOSE] during manuscript preparation. The author(s) reviewed and edited the content as necessary and accept full responsibility for the published work.

This requirement does not apply to basic tools used for grammar, spelling, or reference checking. If no AI tools were used, no statement is needed.

Important Note: To protect author rights and ensure research confidentiality, this journal prohibits the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies, such as ChatGPT, in the peer review and manuscript evaluation process. The journal is actively reviewing compliant AI tools and may update this policy in the future.
